First Ice Exhibition With Sir David Attenborough

Working together with the British Antarctic Survey, the APPG for the Polar Regions hosted an evening event to celebrate the opening of the exhibition in Portcullis House showing the first voyage of the RRS Sir David Attenborough to Antarctica.

The event was opened by Sir Lindsay Hoyle with speeches from Dame Jane Francis and Minister George Freeman and hosted throughout by James Gray MP.

The visit of Sir David Attenborough to see the exhibition and a live link with the ship as she conducted science trials in the Ross Sea, Antarctica were particular highlights.

The event drew over 120 people and the exhibition was then on display for the next month in Portcullis House. Showcasing the UK’s commitment to polar science and the polar regions.
